The Murals: Condition Report #4 (East Wall)

(EAST WALL - MURAL #4)

Description: Sherman Roller Rink
Dimensions:  Image- 235.5 cm (length), 55.0 cm (width- centre), 38.0 cm (width- sides)
                       Simulated frame- 9.0 cm wide, 18.0 cm wide on top edge.
Condition:
  • The surface of painting is significantly grimy. A layer of grease is also possibly present.
  • Abrasions and scratches are present on the entire surface.
  • Paint layer is actively cracking and cupping in most areas of painting.
Minor and major paint losses are present all over the surface. Major losses in paint is present on bottom centre right. The paint is actively flaking at all losses.
